Boreham House is a fully licensed wedding ceremony venue in Essex. The English Heritage Grade 1 listed Stately Home located in Essex is one of its kind in the South East region.
Boreham House is one of the most idyllic large wedding ceremony venues in Essex. It has many original features including our beautiful staircase, which was owned by Henry VIII from 1517 to 1547.
We are delighted to offer our couples the choice of either our listed Oak Room located in the main house itself or the Glass Pavilion in the beautiful grounds.
However large or small your ceremony is we have every facility to make your day perfect.
If you feel a religious ceremony is best for you, we have an amazing church in Boreham Village where the Vicar is happy to marry couples who live outside of the parish.

The Oak Room at Boreham House is a special place where aristocrats have wined and dined across the centuries.
We are privileged to be able to use this unique room to marry our couples. The beautiful features are many.
Surrounded by intricate oak carvings, exquisite ceiling plasterwork and original floor to ceiling windows, it’s a setting like no other. Under the legislative guidance of Chelmsford Registration Service, our couples celebrate their nuptials in the most historic backdrop.
For those with large numbers or with a preference for a more modern feel, our beautiful Glass Pavilion has stunning panoramic views of the grounds and The Vale of Chelmer.
With two options to choose from, your wedding ceremony can be adjusted to suit themed weddings as well as modern and traditional weddings for your dream day.

HENRY VII SUITE CEREMONY ROOM

The Henry VII Suite at Boreham House is designed to accommodate weddings of various sizes, from intimate gatherings to larger celebrations.
Named in honour of King Henry VII, the suite exudes historic charm and sophistication, providing couples with a truly distinctive and memorable setting for their wedding ceremony.
The suite features exquisite decor, including elegant chandeliers, ornate furnishings, and architectural details that add to its timeless charm and sophistication.
With its flexible layout, couples have the opportunity to customize their ceremony space according to their unique vision and preferences. Whether aspiring for a classic arrangement or a contemporary design, the Henry VII Suite can be personalized to reflect the couple’s style and aesthetic.
CIVIL CEREMONY
Boreham House can accommodate up to 105 people for a Civil Ceremony in the Oak Room situated within the Main House. Our Glass Pavilion will accommodate up to 300 guests should you have a larger wedding venue in Essex, in mind. Our couples are advised to contact Chelmsford Registry Office on 0845 603 7632 to arrange their ceremony time.
CHURCH CEREMONY
St Andrews Church is our beautiful local village church situated minutes from Boreham House in Boreham Village. The vicar is more than happy to marry couples that live outside of the parish.

OUTDOOR CEREMONY VENUE

Our stunning venue is based in Chelmsford, which is located in the centre of Essex. You can access our venue from London in less than an hour, by car.
A wedding ceremony is the event which happens prior to the reception, where the official and legal marriage of a couple takes place. It consists of the reading of vows, exchange of rings and declaration of marriage between the two people.
We have a selection of options for your wedding ceremony at Boreham House. We highly welcome you to have your event at either our listed Oak Room located in the main house itself or the Glass Pavilion in the beautiful grounds.
